My Problems Started When I Got 340 Marks In KCPE. I’m now living on the streets

I’m the second born in a family of four children. Our firstborn was married at the primary level . She had the same challenges that I have started facing now.

I got 340 marks in the last (2022) KCPE Examination. I pleaded with dad to take me to school, and he kept on telling me that he didn’t have money and that I do what I wanted.

From then, being at home was so stressful. I went and lived with my grandma for sometimes, but because I had no hopes of joining secondary, I started looking for friends who could help me get some work to do. That, too, didn’t go well with my parents , that, I started walking with bad companies.

Late last week, a certain friend of mine told me that she could connect me to some job. We came with her to Kisumu, later I realised she came to see her boyfriend and that’s how she abandoned me in the streets where I am now…

What an emotional story? Have we failed as parents to give guidance and counselling to our children? What’s the best thing to offer your kids, if not education? With 340marks
